This is a full-time position scheduled to work 40 hours a week, 80 hours biweekly at Marianjoy in Wheaton. The hours are 6am-2:00pm. Must work holidays/ Rotating every other weekend.

 

Supervises, coordinates and participates in the effective preparation and service of high quality meals. Ensures a safe and sanitary operation. Ensures an efficient cost-effective operation and maintains communication within facility. Supervises multiple facets of kitchen and cafeteria operations. Always aware of customer/client needs and responds accordingly. Provides service in a timely and professional manner. Supervises areas of food production, patient tray assembly, delivery process and catering functions. Ensures all areas of food production and service are set up according to steam table diagrams, nutrition requirements, and menu. Ensures proper tray line assembly set-up and cleanup. Monitors inventory control. Follows standardized recipes as instructed for quality and quantity production and portion control. Ensures cafeteria signage is set up and posted properly. Responsible for the sanitation and cleanliness of kitchen, production, and service area. Ensures each staff's work assignments/job tasks are completed. Ensures proper set-up and clean-up in dining, production, storage which may include floor, pot, pan, and ware washing. Trains, leads, supervises unit associates. Responsible for instruction of staff on new/revised policies/procedures and assessing staff's comprehension. Adheres to and enforces policies and procedures guidance. Responsible for developing positive safety awareness within associates. Instructs associates in proper and safe use and maintenance of equipment. Ensures that working conditions and work practices used are safe for associates under his/her supervision. Adheres to and enforces HACCP guidelines. Responsible for the proper storage, labeling and disposal practices of all food and supplies. Ensures accurate recordkeeping of registers, catering petty cash, purchasing, inventory and HR documentation. Responsible for security and accuracy of cash handling. Performs all miscellaneous duties as directed by management. Search and print menus and recipes via menu & recipe data base. Delegates work assignments appropriately. Organizes time constructively and prioritizes work by level of importance. AA/EOE.

Required: Current/valid SERVsafe Certification. 2 yr. degree or 2 yr. work equivalent experience in a supervisory role. Preferred: Certified Dietary Manager, CDM.
