ABOUT US

Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, a nonprofit organization, is the corporate parent of Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital, Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital, Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital, Northwestern Medicine Chicago Proton Center, Northwestern Medical Group, Northwestern Medicine Regional Medical Group, Northwestern Medicine Regional Practice Partners, and Northwestern Memorial Foundation.  “Northwestern Medicine” describes all of these entities (and the excellent work we do). 

Northwestern Memorial Hospital

Located in downtown Chicago, Northwestern Memorial Hospital is an 894-bed academic medical center and the primary teaching affiliate for Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (FSM). Virtually every medical specialty is represented by the medical staff of employed and affiliated physicians who also carry faculty appointments with FSM. The hospital currently ranks No. 11 in U.S.
News & World Report’s annual Honor Roll of America’s Best Hospitals, with 14 clinical specialties
nationally recognized. A new outpatient facility will open in October 2015.

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital is a nationally recognized 347-bed acute-care
facility located in Winfield, IL. In 2015, Central DuPage Hospital (CDH) was named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals by Truven Health Analytics, the hospital industry’s most prestigious honor. The hospital was also ranked No. 36 in the nation for orthopaedic care by U.S. News & World Report for 2015-16. With more than 1,040 physicians on the medical staff in 90 specialties, CDH is a regional destination for oncology, neurology, orthopaedic, pediatric and cardiology care. In 2010, CDH earned Magnet® recognition for nursing excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and received redesignation in 2015.

Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital

With roots in the northern Chicago region, Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital is a 201-bed
community hospital located about 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. Care is provided through the main hospital campus in suburban Lake Forest and an outpatient campus in Grayslake, IL, which also includes a free-standing emergency room. Lake Forest Hospital continues to be recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top hospitals in Illinois and Chicago, ranking No. 19 and No. 16 respectively for 2015-16. A new state-of-the-art hospital facility will open in 2017.

A 159-bed acute care facility, Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital is a recognized leader in clinical
quality and patient-centered care located 37 miles west of downtown Chicago in Geneva, IL. The Delnor medical staff includes more than 450 physicians in 80 specialties, providing comprehensive medical care for its surrounding communities. In 2010, Delnor Hospital earned Magnet® recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center for nursing excellence – the first hospital in the state to achieve this honor.

Northwestern Medicine Chicago Proton Center

The Northwestern Medicine Chicago Proton Center, located in the western suburb of Warrenville, IL, is the first and only proton therapy center in Illinois to bring this innovative radiation treatment to patients. The Center is equipped with state-of-the-art proton therapy technology, and our team of experienced radiation oncologists and highly skilled medical professionals is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care for the effective treatment of multiple types of tumors and cancers.

Northwestern Medical Group
