The Laboratory Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and facilitating the prompt, efficient, and accurate delivery of laboratory services in the absence of the Laboratory Medical Director or Leadership Staff. The Laboratory Shift supervisor is to be knowledgeable in all technical areas and will perform testing and resolve technical problems when necessary. The Laboratory Shift Supervisor is to act as the Liaison for the laboratory with other hospital staff, organization affiliates, and Healthlab Clients to meet the organization's mission and service standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 years general laboratory experience in a JCAHO and/or CAP accredited laboratory
  • Must meet minimum requirements for performing high complexity testing as defined by federal licensing guidelines (CLIA) and accrediting agencies (JCAHO, CAP)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • 5 years general laboratory experience preferred

Required Education:

  • Medical Technologist certification, MT (ASCP) or equivalent with a Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science
  • MLT certification preferred
